Title: Venture to Ori's Gallery.
Post by: Ori on July 07, 2016, 11:53:21 AM: Evening Everyone! This is my gallery, for stuff that's not a request. ^.^ Did ya know I also have a hobby of water painting outside of my digital skills XD

BTW this is not exactly watercolor, but I use watercolor color pencils, which if you add water after ussing the pencils, they dilute and look like water color. It's very neat. (In more ways than one. They're more portable then regular watercolor. And even cooler, I use a brush that you can put water in. When you do, as you paint, the water flows out. It's very, very 'neat'. When you need to change the color, I just make a few strokes on another paper and the color goes away quickly.)

(In the first picture you can see part of my water color colored color pencils. ) Best thing? The whole set, about 12 small colored pencils, a sharpener, and s small version of the brush that I use for about 12 bucks. And they sell two other packs with slightly different colors. (In the bottom left of the image of the set (Link beneath this paragraph.) you can see it says two. I own the one that says one.) And if you like it, but run out of colors, or want more, crayola sells a pack of 24 wonderful watercolor color pencils for twelvr dollars on amazon. (The colors can also be mixed, so it's not just '12' colors you get XD .)

The portrait of the man you posted is also really well done ^^

(As of which, you can post the artwork you make for requests in this topic. It's to show-off your own artwork. As long as you don't offer slots or whatever on your own artwork gallery thread, then it's fine. It's totally good, however, if you want to show what you made though ;D )

Before someone asks what the heck are you drawing, work on your requests, I'm still not home! This is my tablet, and it usually crashes and can't handle big images! That's why the drawing looks like 144p lol.

Anyhow my more recent works since late last year:

This is probably one of my first pieces I pulled off rather successfully after removing the line art.

XD ) Her name is Angelkins. The fursona's name is yet to be decided. I actually streamed a bit of this towards the end.

I kinda like it. But it's a mess. Really hard to tell what's going on it for some reason (Especially the ear cuff). I call this one, Deep in Thought... ( I need to work on that rain XDD)

To me the ear cuff isn't the problem, I think it's that the colours of the character and the background are rather similar. That's why it's hard for me to see what is going on, because the character seems to really blur into the scenery.
Maybe make the character stand out a tad bit more from the background or change the colours a bit between the character and the background and it should be fixed, I think.

In my opinion it looks a whole lot better and I (and I think others too) can see your work much easier now and all the details you have drawn.

See, it still looks a bit droopy/depressing, you've set that tone very well.
I also see you changed the eye colour, very cool.

Also, I just now realised: You said it is your new fursona.
So a bunny-fursona.
So... woo! (I have a bunny-esk fursona too >.>)

Anyways, as before, just like now: I really like this piece and I think you only made it better by rceating more difference between the character and its background.
The shading and overall style of the piece is very unique, and all the tiny details you put in there only adds more to it.

I took a look at this visual novel engine called Renpy. And I really want to attempt a graphic novel, (Considering it looks rather easy to learn and use as half the game is already coded for you.) And I wanted to experiment, and see if I had a style that matched the theme of my game 'loneliness'. I guess I kinda do? And it would be kinda unique in the sense I've never seen a visual novel approached in a way that looks like a painter decided to step into the game. Then I saw this person offering free code to convert Renpy into an RPG and I sat there like, I kinda like RPGs. I certainly wouldn't mind making one. Now. With that in mind I started to experiment, trying to create simple art. Which didn't work out. Instead I gave up and said why don't I be me. And I did this. As cool as this looks (As I was going for a noir look) I can't imagine how the overworld would look. If I was making a 3D game... Yeah maybe. But since I'm not... I'm not able to figure out what to do.

Must be under 50 pages.
Must be Black and White.
Must look good/ refined. (Sketches for an example won't be considered.)

And the winner gets like,
10,000$ (Or 100,000 yen.)
And gets to post in the respected magazines next issue. (In this case Shonen Jump and one other since there's two contests.)

It's CRAZY!!! The judges is either the artist of Naruto (For one of the contests) And the other is the artist of Fairy tail!!!
I'm planning to drop the same one-shot for the both of them. But my goodness!

I got a lot of things to post, and a lot of things to say. So I'mma start from the top.
Remember how last summer I tried building a Visual novel or mentioned it? I basically gave up on that project about a month later. And now I'm back working on it again (Well a different project/storyline all together.) I want to work on two actually. I have this huge one I wanna make, and a smaller possibly under two hour one I want to make. Possibly as a showcase of what I can do if I really enjoy making Visual novels. What happened to your comic? I'm still working on it. It's there. It's just that I haven't worked on it because I needed to work on the art hometest for my art college. And so yeah. There's just like a couple more pages. Once I get the first chapter... (That moment you realize you messed up because you sent out your sketchbook... Meaning you just lost all your pages... I said in my rant, Life is just Russian suplexing me into the mud. So posting that is gonna be delayed by another month... Instead I'll just work on upcoming pages I s'pose. I'll post some more finished stuff soon anyhow.) What about the competition? Oh that? The competition closed one day early, in short RKO-ing me out of nowhere. Life too strong.

Art Overhall Done for now... For some reason I'm getting a horrible Deja vu. Life you better not make that deja vu come true lol.

I love your traditional sketches the most. A lot of the character and details in the linework seems to be lost when you move to digital though. It's still good, but doesn't quite have the same "oomph" as your traditional stuff.

(And no that's not censored nsfw, That's still wip area. I swear. I actually forgot to draw in the white fur between his legs. And because of lighting the white fur would be red. So I blocked in the white fur with the red tinge, and now it needs to be properly rendered. It's NOT Nsfw.)
The only thing that's changed that's not really seen here is that his eye colors can change. Since I constantly get bored of my sona, as much as I love him, I get bored easily. To help alleviate some of the boredom, I'm gonna make him have changeable eye colors depending on mood. Thanks goodness, this can actually be done on a fursuit. Now how am I gonna get a fursuit with Veloceraptor hands, feet and a tail? GOOD QUESTION! *Looks over at Fursuit makers* It ain't my problem no more.
