Title: Donator perks

Tweak and I just finished setting up the new "donator" status on the forum. :)

Currently, by donating, you will gain the following abilities:
- Can lock your own threads
- Can remove your own threads
- Can edit your own custom title via your profile information settings
- Can save posts into the draft system to post later
- "Donator" displayed underneath your name, and your name will be colored purple around the forum.
- Access to additional games in the arcade

This status will only last for a month after each donation. Donations must also be a minimum of $5 in order to receive these perks.

We are also interested in adding more to the donator status in the future; if you have any ideas about what you'd like to see added, please let us know!


Just a way of thanking the people who go out of their way to contribute to the forums. We appreciate it!

Just a note to everyone, this isn't a way of making those who don't donate feel invaluable, it is to show the community those that have helped in giving the community support to allow it to keep running.

Someone who donates isn't looked upon any higher than another member, they are under the same rules.

The few small perks are hardly hugely beneficiary and the future additions will be similar, they are token gifts to show that the donations are valued; just like we provide you a community with no limits for free to show how we value every member here.

Every cent of the bills are paid by myself alone, as a student I am not in a situation where money is rolling in and finding the funds to support this every-growing community is difficult, I already need to invest in further equipment to provide a better service, something I will have to fund out of my own pocket. Every donation helps lower my own costs so that I can actually buy things for myself, so I can eat shop branded food rather than the cheapest available.

Though these perks are amazing, and very very tempting, I would donate none-the-less.

well i just goy my first job (hope i keep it...) so once i get my stuff together and that i was planing to start donating what i could anyway. now i just get some well apreciated (and unexpected) perks to go with the slightly larger ego and feeling of doing something good once in a while.

I sometimes feel that about running the forum at all.

We offer donator perks as a small way to thank those who help to remove some of the strain on my bank account. If you feel donating isn't worth it then don't donate. I'll continue to pay anyway.

I'd really love to help guys and I have this awesome golden heart... But I'm having major issues with my money myself :( Since I'm 18, I'm seeing my money go into everything... I need this, I need that... And I don't even have a job :( ... But when I'll be able to donate, I will give everything I can  ^_^

Starting with the month of October, a raffle is going to be held monthly for donators. Giving a donation to the forum will automatically enter you into the raffle. How many raffle "tickets" you receive will depend on the total amount you give. (In other words, you can't make two separate $5 donations and receive two tickets for each $5. It would be counted together as $10.)

Donation   Number of tickets
  $5-20   =   1 raffle ticket
 $21-40  =   2 raffle tickets
 $41-60  =   3 raffle tickets
 $61-80  =   4 raffle tickets
$81-100 =   5 raffle tickets
 $100+   =   6 raffle tickets

At least 10 people have to donate in order for the raffle to take place. If we have a month where 10 people don't donate, the tickets for those donators will be carried over and count toward the next month.


Prizes

The winner of the monthly raffle is able to win a free forum avatar or small pixel art drawn by me, WingedZephyr (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=618). Upon winning, you can PM me your fursona/character information, what kind of avatar you'd like, and what expression/pose/mood you'd want. The image will be be 145x200 pixels or less in size, in order to perfectly fit as an avatar. These are some examples of my work:

Art style may vary slightly from what you see in the "regular avatar" examples.

And if we have a raffle where 30 or more people are participating, a third winner will be chosen to receive a free set of custom horns designed by Kaprika (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=4657). These are some examples:

Let's see if we can't add to this.


- A month of no advertisements
- A donation of 50 dollars or more gives an extra half month donator status
- A month of having one thread of their own stickied in one board (with a large donation)
- A half hour of your own playlist being broadcast on PawzRadio with a donation of $5 (Will discuss with Kyriin)

those look quite nice. oh maybe a donation of 50 $  gets the same stuff lizard said and a free  art peace, like it was done before, done by any of the artist willing to participate.

don't really care about any perks :p but i promise ill try to donate as much as i can once i start working  :D (hopefully after Christmas ill be getting my first job)

 XD i feel i didn't type this right when i say "i don't care for any perks" i mean id try to donate wheather or not they were there

I wish you could keep your custom title if you donate instead of it lasting a month. im new here so i dont know if you truly get to keep your title after a months time.

How about some kind of donation meter for those who's donated at least once? I don't mind the idea that the donator status only lasts a month, but there could be something by the side of your name and/or in your profile to show you've donated at some point in time? Like a counter that says how many times you're donated?

And where exactly is this thread you speak about? Because the thank you thread is only a public thanking to a select few users that donated within a certain period.

My idea is more of a counter or sub-status that is linked to your account and is independent of the "Donator" status with the perks that last for just a month. Another problem to mention just having a thread for it would cause would be that it'd need to be manually maintained.

So question, what’s the way to donate? Is it like through PayPal or something? And secondly, I will be on this site for a LONG time (emphasis on the long) so when I actually get money I’ll donate cause I appreciate that people use their time to make something like this for furry lovers everywhere.  :)
