Just looking for some fellow furs in this great big flat dry state of Texas that I might find sooner or later (not in a creepy sense mind you)
I'm here in the small town of Ballinger. It's about 40 minutes south to San Angelo and an hour north to Abilene

I'm a furry- but I'm a closet furry. xD No one I know is aware that I'm a furry other than one person online. I've been really wanting to meet people with the same interests though. Currently I'm living in San Antonio- but I'm leaving in two months for my freshmen year at Texas Tech University. So in two months I'll be in Lubbock. xp

lol anyway there's going to be a late season Ren Fest near austin (?)
its in feburary, i love renfest, though i missed all the big ones this year.
this isn't suppose to be as big as like the one around Houston, but big enough.
I wont be fursuiting, not even near getting it yet lol, but if you want to meet up (if your thinking of going) just tell me,
i will be with 2 fam members, my son and mother, but if you wanna tag along with us or vice versa. Plus itll get my mom into the idea of me being a furry lol.
anyway im not 100% on what day we are going, or really the exact location (its the only one around that area) since im not even driving, but ill post an update later
and hopefully by next big renfest in the one nearer houston area, ill be ready with my fursuit!

Well I live in the very small town Ft.McKavett it's about an hour and a half from San Angelo but you'd have better luck searching for Menard (where I go to school) it about 20 mins from Ft.McKavett.

Well, as it turns out, life is really about to change for me. My father, being personally fed up with how my Grandparents are treating me, will be taking me with him to Vernon, Texas. So, I will be living out there for some time. That's two-and-a-half hours northwest of Dallas and Fort Worth, then just a ways west of Wichita Falls.

Ahh! What part? I live in South Austin on Slaughter and Manchaca. My furry friends don't believe there are any cool furrs in Texas but I'm out to prove them wrong.

I live just a bit north from Waco, texas. I live on campus and attend Texas State Technical College. I doubt if there's any one closer than out from San Antonio but it'd be really nice to know if there were any furries relatively near me to be friends with.

Polyamorous couple in East Texas looking to meet fellow furrs and make some friends not sure if there are any even in the area, more specifically Jasper County or in the Nacogdoches area. It seems Texas may just be too big there's a lot of us here in small city's that are pretty lonely and far out of the way of cons. And local furr meets :(

it does kinda suck if you are not part of the norm, trust me I know. I live in the bible belt and I am bisexual catholic so I dont quite fit with the babtist conservative mentality, but at least in texas we have Austin where its an oasis in this sea of normativity.

I'm bi/pagan/may not be entirely cis by some people's definitions. Not many people know though so I'm not sure how they'd react if they did. San Antonio is alright, at least based on my experience and the fact that it's fairly big and has a variety of people there.

I agree with you amethyst, the areas that have issues with those who are not part of the status quo are primarily your rural areas. The reason being is that these areas have a certain etiquite you must adhere to be accepted by the community. Such as being a hard worker, good person, and being a christian. But, if you don't meet these social expectations or decide to break the normality by expressing something that does fit the culrutal norms then your sometimes given a bit of "trouble". In your larger cities though in texas the view of cultural norms shift. Due to the fact these cities are cultural metling pots and thus those who choose to express their full individuality are not met with such hostile or malicious reactions when they come out.

At least you have furries at your school. I am lone wolf in my college. But so far what I can tell is that there is a nice little community of over 200 furries in San Antonio.

NE Texan otter here, though it's not where I started. I was born in Ohio but grew up in Indiana, and then I followed my mate home and she kept me (for some strange reason). XD
Having said that...I'm massively poor...looking for a job but don't have one yet. Since I can't afford much, I only leave the house when its absolutely necessary or when my mate and I have been saving for something special like a date or video game we both want and we finally have enough. I probably won't be able to meet anyone, but it's good to see so many of you living relatively close.
