Do I have to go through Captcha verification for every post I make?
No. In an effort to deter spammers on the forum, new members are required to go through Captcha verification only for the first few posts they make. After you make a few posts, the Captcha will no longer be required for posts or PMs.
What do the different member ranks mean? (AKA Why am I a "Vibrating Furby"?)
For regular members, there are 27 available "ranks" that are based on post count. The first rank you start with is called "Vibrating Furby", and it will change if you continue to post. Listed below are all the possible post-based ranks you can achieve. The number listed next to each is the number of posts you need in order to be in that group.
Once you get to "Zoomorphic Zebra", your rank will stop changing.
Aside from the post-based ranks, there are also special member ranks that can be attained by other means. People who donate to the forum will become "Donators" for a month. Staff members are given different ranks depending on their role on the forum. Each of these special ranks will change the color of a person's username. At the bottom of the forum index (where all the boards are listed), there is a key that will always list what each of the colored names are for. Clicking on any of the rank names in that list will bring up a description of that rank.
What are the little paw print icons next to the usernames for?
The paw prints are based on the member ranks. Paw prints for regular members are white. You start with one paw as a "Vibrating Furby", and it goes up to a max of ten paws once you make it to the "Racious Raccoon" rank.
Forum members with special rankings have a set number of paw prints that they are given; the paws are NOT based on how many posts a person has. The paw prints will also match in color with the person's username, based on their rank.
Donators have one purple paw. Forum Ambassadors have two orange paws. Local Moderators have two green paws, BUT the two paws will be blue within the boards they moderate. Moderators have three yellow paws. Global Moderators have four blue paws. Account Specialists have four mint paws. Staff administrators have five red paws. Forum administrators have six red paws.
Why does my post count not match the number of posts I've actually made?
There are a few boards on the forum where posts are not counted toward your "official" post count. Boards that are inclined to have faster-paced posting or "spamming" will usually not count your posts. Forum Games, Furry Freezer, and Fun RP are among these. It just helps to keep things fair for the people who don't wish to participate in the really chatty threads.
What happens when I click the "Report to Moderator" button on a post?
The forum staff will be notified of the post, and we will take action as soon as possible if necessary. If a post is reported needlessly, it's not the end of the world; we just won't do anything about it. Please feel free to use the Report to Moderator button if you ever have a reason to question the content of a post. Don't abuse it, but don't be afraid to report it either. :P
Are there any benefits to donating to the forum? What are the donations used for?
Yes! The rewards given for donating are listed here.
Donations cover a number of areas. The majority of the donations go towards the server costs, but additional costs are also covered where needed. The recommended amount per month is actually more than is required to aim for a higher goal so that extra donations can help provide for extenuating circumstances should they occur. Donations ensure that the forum will be able to ensure the forum stays running, without making our forum techie have to give up all his food money in exchange!

Who do I talk to if I have a question/problem on the forum?
Any of our forum staff members are available to help you at any time. If it's not a personal matter, you can also use the Questions and Guides board to submit questions for the staff. In general, our staff members all sign into the forum at least once a day; a few even stick around throughout the day. We like to help, so don't hesitate to talk to us!
How do I become a moderator on the forum?
Staff members are generally only added if and when we have open spots on the team. There are a few different ways we choose staff members; the method we use can vary depending on what we feel will work best at the time. Sometimes we open a thread for applications; sometimes we hand pick people we think would do well; sometimes we add people in if they express interest in being a moderator and also seem fit for the job.
There are many qualities we look for in our staff members. Those qualities include, but are not limited to: knowing the rules; being mature; being respectful; typing properly; being highly active on the forum; being a long-time member (more than just a few weeks); reporting posts that break the rules; and getting along with the other members of the staff team. If you want to be a moderator, keep those things in mind. You can also PM WingedZephyr to inform us of your interest.
